"Life is full of give and take; give thanks and take nothing for granted" -Unknown

Start Thursday Rant: As I power through this work week I have been reminded not to take a single thing in life for granted. Never get too comfortable in a situation, a home, a relationship, or in your own life. This can result in becoming complacent [which is one of the worst human qualities, in my opinion]. Complacency, by definition has a negative connotation. [Complacent; adjective; showing smug or uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one's achievements] But more often it is a blatant neglect of what is truly important. I am fortunate enough to have eliminated most relationships and friendships that share these characteristics, but I still struggle with not allowing myself to get to this place in my own life.

There is really truly something to say for the cliche quote, 'live everyday as if it were your last.' Although extremely overused, it is still so relevant to everyday life, and our society as we know it would be a different place if more people thought this way. Some complain about the most minuscule, juvenile aspects of our daily lives, while others are actually fighting through life with real, true unsolvable problems. When we compare the lives of the two [the complainer and the fighter] the people who truly have deep, dark, honest struggle in their life, are the people who find true happiness in the smallest things, whereas the people who mutter through life, complaining on social media about how the barista at Starbucks messed up their soy latte, surround themselves with negative, toxic, ungrateful energy that projects itself throughout their whole world, including their life, and also the lives of everyone they come in contact with.

So today, be thankful, be grateful, get excited about something, smile a lot, smile at someone, look at someone in the eye and tell them to have a great day!, give someone a complement, give yourself a complement, fuel your body with good quality food, try something you've been wanting to try, just go out on a limb and be happy today! Be thankful that god put you on this earth and project healthy, happy, love! It sounds corny, but you are only given one life, and lives are taken unfairly every single day without notice. Be genuine, be true, be honest, and love with all of your heart. The health benefits of laughter are far beyond anything else you could do for your body. Take a deep breath, relax, and let go. End rant.

Happy Thursday everyone! Some recent events triggered a Thursday rant session but I hope some of you can relate to what I am trying to say and can use it to power through the rest of the work week! Now, back to the food!!
